A pretty celebration pin from former Czechoslovakia. The badge face is 2.5cm high and has a stick pin fastener to the rear. It features the text Miners and Energy workers Day and the date 1976 with a miners Flag in the traditional colours of black and green and the crossed hammer logo.
The pin celebrates the 1976 Miners\' day which by now, in the declining industry, was joined with the energy workers union to bolster the turnout.
These days the national miners day is a forgotten celebration since the decline in the use of coal has lead to an overall industrial decline and many pit closures.
