    In 1985, Canada celebrated the 100th anniversary of the opening of its first national park. To mark the occasion, the Royal Canadian Mint issued this silver dollar. It contains 3/8 Troy oz. of silver and has a proof finish. The design on this commemorative features a moose.

    National Parks Moose Design

    Since this is a Canadian coin, the obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This side is inscribed with \"ELIZABETH II,\" \"CANADA,\" and \"D G REGINA.\"

    The reverse displays the commemorative design. The dates of the centennial anniversary are inscribed above the scene. This design shows a moose standing in shallow water with a heavily wooded area in the distance.
