1996 First year of toonie - $2 toonie proof finish coin in case

This listing is for a 1996 $2 proof finish toonie coin that was issued by the Royal Canadian mint to celebrate the launch of the new $2 coin that replaced the banknote. This beautiful coin is 28 mm in diameter and weighs 7.3 grams. It is minted with an outer ring of 99% nickel and an inner core of 92% copper, 6% aluminum and 2 % nickel. The coin is in its original capsule which is set into a blue flock-lined black leatherette clam case. There is a certificate of authenticity inside the case. Protecting the case is a nice coloured cardboard sleeve.

Note that the photos I post in my listings are all from my own inventory.
