This listing is for a signed 19th century 1st quality Meissen bronze mounted porcelain covered vase. The vase measures 14 ¾ inches or 37 cm high, and is 7 inches or 18 cm at its widest.
The covered vase features a bronze mounted foot with a laurel leaf and berry design. This supports the elegantly formed body and bronze mounted handles. The body of the vase is hand painted with two figural scenes; at the front is woman seated on a flowering tree branch accompanied by two winged cherubs. On verso is another winged cherub among the flowering branches. The neck of the vase is reeded and decorated with heavy applied gold. The underside of the lid and bottom of the piece has the blue crossed swords of Meissen and no hash marks near or on it.
The condition overall is good, there is an old repair to the base where the body meets the base, and the base. Please see the many photos for more on the look and condition.
