For sale is an antique E & L.P NORTON jug which dates btw 1861 and 1881. It is 11 inches tall, 7 inches wide at the base and around 8 inches at it\'s widest point.
The jug is in really great shape. It is a beautiful gray color and the blue of the decoration is clear, dark and raised, especially the dots. The stamp is easily readable. It is solid and shiny. The handle is solidly attached. It appears that the cork has been broken off at some point. There is part of an old looking cork lodged in the mouth of the jug and you can hear what I presume is the rest of the cork moving inside the jug.
I have photographed and described any irregularities that I can see. There is what appears to be a small fire burst hole that is superficial and does not in any way affect the integrity of the stoneware. There is an old appearing scrape of about 1/2\" on the base edge that is a different texture but the same color as the rest of the jug. The side attachment points of the handle are visible but glazed over, there is no separation and the handle is solid.
