This is a 19th Century Chinese porcelain vase of squat yen yen form. Beautifully-decorated in rich underglaze cobalt blue in the Kangxi manner.

The upper section, below the flared rim, features boys at play in a garden setting with fence, pine trees and rockwork.

The main body of the vase features \'three friends of winter\' together with an interior room scene with hanging drapes and a table with a book and high ranking officials with a servant.

Fine quality workmanship by the artist.

Signed to the base with a apocryphal four character Kangxi mark (but circa 1850).

Height 11 1/2\" (29 cm).

Two repaired rim chips (one with resultant hairline).

A very handsome vase.
