19TH CENTURY HAND PAINTED COUNTRY FRENCH CHIMING PORCELAIN MANTLE CLOCK:
$199.99

THIS IS BEING RELISTED DUE TO A NON PAYING buyer. Antique 1870\'s signed Japy Freres hand painted porcelain mantle clock. Porcelain, not tin, face decorated with roses and a musical instrument carrying cupid. Each number is hand painted inside a gold medallion. Stylized gold rim with embossed scrolls and beads surround the face. Covered with beveled glass hinged door with beading. Hand painted scene of a courting couple on a river bank . She is being serenaded. Hand painted instruments in a gold scrolled medallion are on each side and top of the clock. Porcelain case is embossed in gold raised relief with scrolls and shells. 4 outwardly turned scrolled legs. This is a chiming clock and comes with the pendulum and key. The clock stands approximately 12\" in height, approximately 6 1/2\" in width, and approximately 4 1/2\" in depth. There are no nicks, chips, or cracks. No scratches or repairs. There is wear to the gold. The movement is signed and has the Japy Freres logo. Hinges on both front and back in proper working order. I think the clock needs to be looked at by someone who knows what they are doing. I lightly tried to wind the clock with the key and it won\'t wind. I did not exert much pressure and did not want to force it.
