19th Century Chinese Apothecary Travel chest. Made out of Chinese Chicken Wing wood or Jichimuwhich has a beautiful grain that looks like feathers. The chest opens up to 3 different size drawers eachmarked with 2 different Chinese character to each drawers. 12 small drawers; 8 medium; 2 long drawers.Antique brass fittings with brass pulls and two handles. The top split plate is no longer there. (They aremore ornamental and can\'t really hold the weight of the chest. ) The chest weighs over 15lbs.Beautifully crafted and pretty rare. The wood is rare now.It has two broken feet (less than an inch in length) that does not effect the stability as they are onthe inside so the other side ofthe box support it.This piece came from an sale with a large collection of Chinese antique furniture and items. I haveseveral of these pieces on sale onin my store.
