barnabas094 store Signed on the bedplate Alibert 1097 and a possible date of 1876, this has a Sotheby\'s London sticker on the back, which I purchased the catalog on , a picture of the page along with the price realized, £552, which at the time equaled $878 US Dollars. Not Quite sure what happened to this box from October 6, 1994 sale until the time that I purchased it from the estate of a watch repair/maker. It does have some issues as noted on the paper from the watchmaker and may have been dropped or gotten to close to a heat source. The case does have breaks to the edge of the top hinge and the bottom edges and has no bottom, The Mother of Pearl control buttons that are supposed to be in the front are attached to the above referenced page and appear to be fine and need to be remounted. There are also notations on the page as to other issues needing to be addressed. The lid is inlaid with an oval gold plaque and it appears the inner hinge is also made of gold, however neither has been tested. I borrowed a key(not included), a with a little help to the flywheel it did play. Please view all the pictures and review the notes and ask any questions. This item is sold as is, but is most certainly marked Alibert. The box is 3 1/2\" x 2 1/4\" x approx 1\" tall, you will receive everything pictured the parts, movement, notes, and box, including a copy of the Sotheby\'s page and result.
