19th CENTURY CHINESE COROMANDEL LACQUER SCREEN 6 PANEL, 3 FOLDS, 2 SIDED, HEAVY:

This is a very large spectacular antique Chinese room divider with 6 panels. It is extremely heavy and well made. The height is 80\" and the width per panel is 15\", with an inch between for a total of 95\" wide. Note the vibrant color of the panels. Each panel tells a story. The panels arehandprinted and etched. Very intricatedetailing on each one. Both the front and back of the screen is painted. The back features panels with simpler designs.

Birdmotifs, fisherman, daily life depicted. The front and back of each panel is decorated and it is worked in the 3 panel style common to the style. The wood surrounding the panels is also painted which is rare and hard to find. I believe the color is officially called \"Cinnabar.\" The hardware reveals the age of the divider to be well over 100 years or older. We have taken photographs outside to give an accuraterepresentation of the color. Indoors it appears more of a deep red.
