Wonderful 19th Century Dutch Delft Puzzle Jug. The gray ground baluster-form jug is decorated with hand painted polychrome designs -- the center image features three people with a bird and cage on a cliff -- the side designs feature buildings. Flowers surround the three designs. The jug is trimmed with blue, yellow, green, and brown colors. The handle is green and black with a snakeskin design. The top round knob is yellow and orange. The jug is decorated with cutouts in various shapes that are trimmed with color. The base has an underglaze blue \"N\" mark, which dates the jug to 1826 - ca. 1860.SIZE: 9 1/2 inches high x 6 inches wide (widest part). There is some sticker residue on the bottom part of the base. The foot rim shows wear from age, and there are tiny pin hole marks on the base.CONDITION: Very good condition with slight wear. Unique piece -- great collector\'s item.
