19th Century Empire Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock, Armingaud A. Paris. A charming 19th Century French ormolu mantel clock in need of some repair. A boy takes a break playing a flute his stantion resting against the clock of Roman numerals and Arabic minutes. Clock accepts winding (no key) but duration and accuracy of timekeeping not tested, nor has the clock been evaluated by a timepiece specialist, unlikely ever re-gilt, some areas of oxidation, dial is missing minute hand and two legs simply need tightening. On back, clear glass cover intact with full view of mechanism and bell has a lovely tone. All of these issues aside, mantle clocks from this period when restored command thousands of dollars. Offering one with immense potential. Measures 14 1/2\" x 9 1/2\" x 3 1/2\" and weighs about 6 pounds. Purchased in France and brought to the states some 45 years ago. Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,200.
