Condition: Vintage Mid-19th Century Antique Bronze (unsure of metallic composition, believe to be bronze), good patina, showing some handling wear, as to be expected from a bronze this period; else very good collectable condition.

About the Foundry: Bolinders was founded in 1844 in Stockholm by brothers Jean Bolinder (1813-1899) and Carl Gerhard Bolinder (1818-1892) under the name J. & CG & CG Bolinder\'s Mechanical Workshop (1873) at Clear Lake on Kungsholmen in Stockholm . The workshop was in the place where today Technical Board of the house , which has Fleminggatan 4, located on the north side of Fleming Road and north of King bridges and at the intersection of Pipersgatan .

Jean Bolinder became managing director of the company and led the mechanical workshop with his brother Carl Gerhard Bolinder, who served as supervisor and workshop manager .

Bolinders developed into one of Sweden\'s leading industrial companies. During Jean Bolinder\'s lead grew J. and CG Bolinder mechanical engineering into one of Sweden\'s leading industrial companies , was converted in 1873 into a limited company with the production of all kinds of castings from art bronze pieces, various decorations for the home and garden, fireplaces and stoves as pans , pots , waffle irons and meat grinders and steam engines . During the 1890s the company started manufacturing woodworking and 1894 even kerosene engines. 1905 also constructed a compression-ignition engine, and from 1910, beginning also produce crude-oil engines , for example, boats and sawmills.

Bolinders introduced and manufactured modern equipment and it was very important for the Swedish forest and other industryies . Bolinders had an extensive production of decorative cast iron and bronze articles during the latter half of the 19th century.
