19thC FRENCH SILVERED BRONZE VICTORIAN SCHOOL CHILDREN BAD BOY/GIRL SCULPTURES:
$595.00

This is a wonderful pair of antique French silvered bronze sculptures of a \"Bad\" boy and girl. They are dressed like they have been to school (or skipped!) and they are wearing signs around their necks that read \"Sale\" and \"Ane\" which translates to \"Dirty\" and \"Donkey\" or Ass. They also are wearing hats that look like they have donkey ears! They must have done something VERY bad! The bases are a gilt bronze. The bronzes measure about 10\" tall and the bases are 2 5/8\" x 2 1/2\". They weigh a combined 6.5 pounds... heavy for the size. The little boy\'s strap for his book bag has the back strap that has been glued on.. there is also what looks like a little plug in his pant leg, which I don\'t know if it is original or not. The little girl is perfect. Both have a very old patina to the silver and bronze. They are not signed. These are guaranteed to be silvered bronze, they are not white metal. If you look at the high spots with a loupe you can see the yellow bronze color coming through the silver.

These little bad children need a good home... will love them!
