The Hot Year by Anne Piper. Rare Hardback, Published by William Heinemann Ltd., London, Melbourne and Toronto, 1st Edition, 1955. This the story of a British woman who marries and moves to India at a time when the British ruled India. Her life takes her from St. John\'s Wood to Delhi and Rangoon and back again. The book is split into 3 Parts: India, The Honeymoon and Burma. She sent to India as a Volunteer by the Ministry (Government). This is a very British tale of travel and adventure.
There are 217 pages, all in Excellent Condition. Just the last two pages have a very small crease in the bottom corner. There is a page at the beginning of the book with a title and a synopsis and on this page a previous owner has written their name. The last blank page does have a couple of soft creases down the length of it. The Red Cover is in Excellent Condition. The colour has held well and the silver lettering on the spine is Superb. The top corners have bumped slightly but there is only minimal shelf wear to corners and edges. Dimensions: 5.25 x 7.25 inches.
