Civil War Discharge

1st Wisconsin Cavalry w/ Death Card

Here isa Civil War discharge for a soldier in the 1st Wisconsin Cavalry dated March 1865 from Nashville, Tennessee. The paper is soiled and does have 5 creases running laterally and horizontally, nothing unusual for these documents. There are pinholes noted in the corners of the creases from wear. The printed and written ink is easily read. The document is for Joseph Eschenbach of the 1st Wisconsin Cavalry.

Along with this document comes a "Death Card" which is printed on a cabinet card stock measuring 4.25 x 6.5inches. It has Joseph Eschenbach's name with death date of March 28th, 1930 and his age of 89. Neat grouping.
