2 19th Century Chinese Shiwan Ware Green Drip Glazed Hexagonal Large Ginger Jars. These jars were originally used to store food and supplies. One of the jars is a deeper green and is much more refined at the top. It is a little heavier than the other jar. Both have depictions of flowers on each of the hexagon sides. They are 5 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches wide which is large for this type of Green Drip Glazed jar. There are no cracks. Some paint loss but I suspect that was at the time of firing.Shiwan ware is Chinese pottery from kilns located in the Shiwanzhen Subdistrict of the provincia city of Foshan, near Guanzhou, Guzndong. There is quite a lot of information on the internet about this collectible pottery.
