This remarkable set of porcelain covered pommade jars were made in 18th c. France. Both are decorated underglaze blue floral sprigs. The first (the smallest) was made by the Mennecy-Villeroy soft paste porcelain factory at the Isle-de-France between their years of production between 1750 and 1773. It is marked with an incised DV for the factory\'s protector, the duc de Villeroy. This pot is also marked with an incised x and f (probably a modeller\'s initials). It is 2 7/8\" tall and is 1 1/2\" in diameter. It has a smallish chip on the edge of the lid and another small chip on the finial (see photos) The second covered pomade jar was made when the factory moved to Bourge-de-Reine between 1774 and 1806. It is marked with an incised BR for Bourge-de-Reine. It is 3 1/4\" tall and is 2 1/2\" in diameter. It has a minor chip on the inside edge of the lid (see photo). This is a rare opportunity to buy two examples from the limited years of two of this factory\'s incarnations.
