This sale is for 2 Original Three Dimensional Woodcarving Pictures by German Artist Matias Schaffmayer. Both depict scenes of the Bavarian Alps, are handcarved from solid wood and handpainted. They were imported from Oberammergau, Germany.The artist carved his name in the back and the original paper label is still attached to both. One also includes a typed biography of the artist which is taped to the back of one of the pictured. The pictures measure 10 5/8\" x 8\" and the other is 10 7/8\" x 8\". The frames are an antique blue color with a gold colored edge. Both scenes depict a home nestled in the Alps. They are wonderfully painted showing beautiful detail. They are in excellent condition with the only flaw I see being a small area of blue missing on the frame.
