2 Original WW1 & Earlier British Canadian Officer\'s Dress & Undress Sword Knots:
$125.00

Always hard to find nice original sword knots in nice condition to fully complete your British or Canadian display sword. These are 2 original British & Canadian Officer\'s sword knots from WW1 - the white softleather would dateto the Victorian period or Edwardian period before being replaced by the brown leather field sword knot for use with the brown leather scabbard.

Knot # 1 - Is a white very soft doeskin leather undress sword knot with gilt acorn - 16 1/2\" long. It is in very good condition for it\'s age and use with only a few small areas of discoloration like like brown foxing or rust specks on one side. There is only one small nick to the leather from wear (like a small cut about 1/4\" across. The gold acorn is in excellent shape with nice gilt remaining and bullion wire all still nice and tight. These knots are usually found quite chewed up from rips and tears due to the soft material they are made from.

This undressknot was worn on Infantry and Artillery Officers swords with the white buff leather undress dutysword belt.

These early undress knots are far more difficult to locate than the dressbullion ones and aremore commonly found on Victorian - Edwardian pre WW1 swords and justsold on it\'s ownis worth the starting price of the sale for both knots.

Knot # 2 - Is a bullion thread dress knot with a narrow red stripe - gold bullion - narrow red center stripe - gold bullion - narrow red stripe. The acorn is in excellent condition with strong red and gold bullion threadwork and is still tightly wrapped. It is wider than the white leather one 3/4\" wide and is 16\" long. It does not have heavy tarnish to it as often found and still has nice bright colors!

This knot was worn on Infantry Officers swords with their matching full dress red/gold bullion sword belts and sashes - worn up to WW2.

Both knots show indications of their being long tied to sword hilts and have twists &turns in the straps from being tied.

Nice to find sword knots in better condtion than most and a must have to fully complete and display your WW1 or earlier Canadian or British Officers Army Sword.

The actual colors are not quite as bright as in the photos (especially for the white knot) but I had to use a camera flash as they showed up too dark looking without a flash.

Price is for BOTH of them.
