These wonderful postcards shows the interior of Mission San Xavier Del Bac \"The White Dove of the Desert\", 9 miles south of Tucson, Arizona.They are 5.875\" X 4.125\". The first card reads: MISSION SAN XAVIER DEL BAC, TUCSON, ARIZONA : San Xavier Mission has been acclaimed by authorities as the finest example of mission architecture in the United States. The recling statue to the left as ypu face the main altar is that of St. Fancis Xavier. This image of St. Francis Xavier has become a place of pilgrimage to many in the southwest. To the right of the main alter is the Chapel of the Sorrowful Mother. In the many niches and medallions are enshrined representations of other saints. Photo by Ken Raveill Terrell Publishing Co..
The second card reads: SAN XAVIER DEL BAC MISSION TUCSON, ARIZONA \"The White Dove of the Desert\" Founded 1692 Built 1783 : One of the best preserved and most exquisite old Spanish Missions in the Southwest. Established in 1692 by Father Kino. It stands in the center of a Papago Indian settlement along the banks of the Santa Cruz River, 9 miles south of Tucson. This view shows the richly Spanish ornamented interior.
They are in Excellent unused condition from the estate of a couple who traveled extentively and collected wonderful postcards from wherever they went. I will be listing more postcards from their collection.
