2 X Original Antique Portrait Photos CDV Carte De Visite Late 19th Early 20th CLot 6These two photos are in great condition (please view photos for full idea of condition, they are a bit grainy due to age) and are great examples of early photographic portraits. I believe they are CDV photos and look amazing!
This lot is great and you can see how teenagers haven\'t changed. One of the photos is of a teenager and he has a little wispy mustache and looks very proud of it!They date from around the late 1800s or early 1900s. They have gilt edging and one photo has been put on the card upside down. The upside down card also has a stamp over the name of the old owner of the photo studio showing the new owner. The other photo has the number of the negative written on the back. They would do this in case you wanted more copies as the negatives stayed at the photo studio. I have quite a few of these which I will be listing and I am always happy to combine postage.They both measue 6.2cm X 10.2cm. They also have gilt edges. They also have the original advertising from the photographic studios on the back.It\'s amazing to think what these mens lives would have been like, they are literally a window into early Australian history.They come from Australian (the photos I have are mostly from Adelaide and Melbourne with a couple from Sydney) photo studios and all come from one extended family.Postage within Australia is via a registered letter.
