2 early embossed 1/2 pint tin top milk bottles, 1 blown in a mold, both light SCA:
$49.00

Up for sale are two light SCA embossed 1/2 pint tin top milks. One is blown in a mold and the other is machine made or ABM. The blown one has a tooled lip and was made in an engraved mold. High lighted with washable white paint, the blown in a mold one is embossed on the front : HAMPTON / Registered - cow head / CREAMERY. No other embossing on bottle. The machine bottle is embossed in a slug plate: SPEEDWELL FARMS / Embossed cow head. Reverse: Mass. seal / Wash and return / Half pint. Base: T- MFG / 15 (1915). Both have no chips or cracks and have not been cleaned. The bottle heights with the top on, for the Hampton it is 5 1/2\" and the Speedwell 5 1/4\". The glass on the Speedwell has case wear on all sides and the Hampton looks like it had only 2-3 uses. The tops and bail arms on both are rusty and are in good working order. The edges on the Speedwell has loss of metal. The age of the Hampton is around 1905 and the Speedwell was made by Thacher Mfg. in 1915. I collected both of these nearly 20 years ago and have found that the tin top 1/2 pints are much more difficult to find then the quarts or pints. The Hampton is from New York state and the Speedwell is from Mass. Both are turning color and are a pretty light sun colored amethyst. Shipping for both is $10. Thanks to everyone that has bought bottles from me over the years.
