We are offering for sale two beautiful pairs of Irish silver sugar tongs

The first is a late 19th century example made by John Shiels. It is decorated in the quintessentially Irish style - Bright-cut Star and is in fine condition throughout with original \"EG\" initials to the outside of the bow.

The second pair are also typically Irish and a rare variant of fiddle pattern. They are good heavy pair and have no engravings nor erasures.

These are a great twosome in fine condition throughout with a lovely original patina.

MEASUREMENTS:Both pairs of tongs measure 15.8cm (6.2\") long and have a combined weight of 90 grams weight.

MARKS: Irish hallmarks (guaranteeing Sterling 925 standard silver) for Dublin circa 1780 by John Sheils (bright-cut engraved) and Dublin 1828 by William Cummins (plain, shaped pair).

CONDITION: Excellent.
