The buyer of this Hallmark boat also gets the exclusive, large (more than 2X) version of the image above (50th Anniversary boat with a giant squid attacking) to use as a screensaver or wallpaper. No one else has it except buyers of other 20,000 Leagues items and whomever they give it to. The digital rendering is attached to the e-mail notifying you of payment receipt and shipping of the squid, along with another surprise Nautilus rendering. The image should not be viewed with an overly bright monitor or one positioned to reflect glare from lights and windows, which will make images seem overexposed or washed out. View with monitor brightness at about 75% and adjust contrast to about 90% or until images have proper \"punch\" without flaring. The bottom-left section of the rendered image above is supposed to be pretty dark-where the rudder fin is just visible, barely.

Description

This 5-1/8-inch replica of Disney\'s Harper-Goff-created Nautilus submarine was designed by Hallmark artist Lynn Norton, and it is as detailed as is affordably possible in this miniature size, near equal to the detail of the 8Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â½-inch Sega boat. Rivets are shown, as well as the anchors, hatches, and all other prominent features of the full-sized model, making this a Nautilus gem.

The lighting is powered by three LR41/192/AG3 button batteries, which are included in a package taped to the crepe wrapping that is wrapped around the model. The battery compartment (above) is accessed by unscrewing a small, phillips-head screw that\'s recessed into the diving-hatch location. There is a small, push-button switch that activates the incandescent-color lights on an approximate 20-second delay, and it is solidly made, despite it being so unobtrusive that it\'s not easily seen when looking for its location, which is on deck, between the aft-stairwell fin and the skiff.

That would be actual size, above, if viewed 100% on a 19-inch monitor. My boat was used to make these pictures, which, despite their point-and-shoot quality, are for the exclusive use of Silkscape Arts for the purpose of sales of the item on . Any copying and use by others is prohibited and is a violation of rules, subject to suspension, and any listing using copied pictures or descriptions will be removed. Boats sold are new and in unopened boxes.

Advertised as a Christmas-tree ornament, it is made of resin and can also be used in an aquarium, though use in water will eventually end the function of the lighting. It can also be hung by the small loop with thread colored to match the water in a background picture, making the thread nearly invisible, as in the top picture of the set above and below, except that black thread was used instead of a matching blue, which would have been even less visible, if at all.

When you compare the various sizes of Nautilus boats out there, considering the ones that have the precision of the same detailing of the Goff/Disney design made for the movie, the fewer there are, and the smaller the boats get, while still holding on to that precisely replicated detail, the more of a gem it is. While no models smaller than the fabulous Master Replicas or 22Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â½-in., 1,000-limited-edition 50th Anniversary boat match the detail of the original, the detail of this handcrafted, Hallmark single-run production model (in the picture above), is remarkable for its size.
