The sponsor of the Debate was The Commission on Presidential Debates and was held at The University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. on September 26, 2008. The Moderator was Jim Lehrer, PBS. This was a single moderator with no panelists. This was a 90-minute debate with candidates standing at podiums. Candidates questioned in turn with two-minute responses, followed by five minutes of open discussion between moderator and candidates for each question.


OBAMA/MCCAIN 2008 (2ND) PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN DEBATE


The Second Debate was between Sen. Barack Obama (D) and Sen. John McCain (R). The sponsor of the Debate was The Commission on Presidential Debates and was held at Belmont University in Nashville, TN on October 7, 2008. The Moderator was Tom Brokaw, NBC News. This was a single moderator with no panelists. This was a 90-minute town hall meeting debate. Candidates questioned by uncommitted voters indentified by the Gallup Organization. In addition, moderator has discretion to include questions submitted online. Candidates questioned in turn with two-minute responses, followed by one-minute open discussion for each question.
