20s CHURRO KLAGETOH NAVAJO RUG 70x42 Native American Indian blanket Navaho Ranch:

Offered here is a circa 1920s good old Navaho weaving that measures 5feet 10 inches long by 3 foot 6inches wide or 70” x 42”. It isattributed to the Klagetoh, Arizonaweaving area and is in very good condition.It was hand-woven by an expert weaver on a primitive upright loom of allNative hand-shorn, hand-carded and smoothly handspun silly smooth old longstaple Churro sheep wool, both weft & warp.This is a nice old Klagetoh with a double stepped diamond layout withcrosses at each diamond’s center. A verynice old Indian rug. Free postage &insurance to you are included with this sale.

We obtained this vintage Native American textile ona rug hunt in Arizonajust to offer you here on . It has asmooth, even weft count averaging 20 per inch and a warp count of 7 perinch. The selvage cords are all in verygood condition with approximately 45” repaired or replaced. Warp selvages are 2-spiral cords and weftselvages are 2-spiral cords. The cornersare all 2 tight, original & excellent and 2 with small repairs & invery good condition. The tassels are all four restored and excellent. It has not been cleaned, is fairly clean now& comes from a non-smoking home. Thereare 4 small 3/8” or smaller repairs around the field and just a h9int of redbleed next to the red corner diamonds just at one end. Both sides are shown in photos above. Thewhites should brighten with a professional cleaning later on. Colors are verynice in this piece of old American Indian art and they are: hand blended & carded natural grayishbrown, ivory white & dark brown to black along with aniline colors ofturkey red and copper brown. Completewith lazy lines, this example of antique Native Americana is ready to head yourway. (2542CWEZ)
