20th Century Meissen Porcelain Russian Winter Figurine in 19th Century Style:
$395.00

Up for sale a splendid 20th century Meissen porcelain figurine depicted in a 19th century style showing a young boy and girl in a winter scene with a Russian feel.  The boy with a Russian type hat sits on a sled full of perhaps kindling and he holds a spade in his right hand. His female companion stands next to him slightly bent over her head in a kerchief.  She warms her hands over a small brazer perched on a tree stump.  The two appear to be taking a break from gathering wood or kindling for the winter fire.  The whole is decorated in lovely pink enamels.  The piece mostly likely was made by Meissen in the 1960\'s or 1970\'s.  It measures 5.75\" H x 5.25\" W.  The Meissen crossed swords mark in blue is on the base.  This is a well-decorated and well-sculpted Meissen figurine.  Good quality.  It is in very good condition with some gilt wear to the base rim and a tiny rough spot on the base rim that probably there occurred at the time of manufacture.  Please check out my other German porcelain lot currently listed- a Dresden mantle clock with floral and cherub detail made by the Sandizell factory.
