This large double-sided springerle mold is a very unique and charming piece. Probably carved in walnut, it features four different scenes, a \"modern\" man and woman of the time, a scene of nude Adam and Eve standing below the tree of life, a cathedral with three towers (w/ a central clock tower), and a milk maid carrying buckets with a shoulder yoke. Each side has \"IIB\" carved at the top. It has two old nails in the side at the top with a wire for hanging.
Condition: Very good condition for age. It is exactly the way I purchased it many years ago. I have never waxed or polished it. It has some damage that shows on the bottom of one side which affects the bottom of the Adam figure where some wood is missing. This is very old and minimal. On one side there is a burl knot hole about 1.25\" and a half inch recessed into the piece and that is original.
