DESCRIPTION:

We are pleased to offer you this \"lovely\" German bisque head doll. Incised on the back of her bisque head is \"550 Germany, Simon & Halbig\". Reference attributes to German maker Simon & Halbig, 1890+. Hand written in pencil on her upper back is \"1912\" and a name. I do not know her past history, but will describe the best I can. She measures just under 22\" tall being a bisque socket head on strung, composition wood doll body. Body shows original finish with overall wear, scuffs, paint touch for being 100 or so years old. Doll is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, legs and knees with all fingers intact. Hands show \"re-paint\" and are not the exact match, one hand is a little longer at the wrist area, nothing terrible but need to mention. The toe area of the left foot is \"missing\" and may need a little restoration. Her stockings and shoes cover this flaw. Doll has a \"sweet\" face with \"fixed\" open blue eyes, painted lashes around the eyes, feathered brown brows, she has open mouth with upper teeth and a faint little dimple in her chin. A few light paint rubs on the cheeks but nothing terrible. Inside the head is plaster cement that was used to secure the eyes remain open all the time. I flashed inside her head and do not see any cracks or hairlines. Wears a charming synthetic long brunette wig that slips over a pate on her head. Vintage Turn of the Century style dress has lace and embroidery accents, it buttons down the back, however shows a little wear, a few light stains and wrinkles. She wears slip, panties, stockings and shoes. I have taken plenty of photos. Please look at my photos they will serve as part of this description.
