Description: 23.5” French Bisque Bebe, Attributed toFrancois Gaultier (FG), featuring a bisque socket head with beautiful qualitybisque, stunning large bulbous blue paperweight eyes, widely arched featheredeyebrows, finely painted upper and lower eyelashes, “dot” accents at the insidecorners of the eyes, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with beautifully paintedlips, mohair wig over cork pate, and on the original wood and composition bodywith jointed wrists.
Shehas a lovely face with superb quality bisque and large bulbous paperweighteyes. Although she has no visiblemarkings, she is attributed to Francois Gaultier.
Sheis very finely costumed in a very lovely couturier sailor costume with matchinghat. She wears antique undergarments,socks, and leather boots.
Condition: Please see photos. The quality of the bisque is superb withexcellent modeling and very delicate facial decoration. I have lighted and black-lighted the bisquehead and there are two invisible/faint hairlines (probably from themanufacturing) at forehead from the crown rim which are underneath the wig, so she displays as perfect. The body is in overallexcellent condition (I think the hands have been repainted). The dress is in overall excellent condition.
