- MARKED ON BACK OF HEAD: Germany - Queen Louise - 10

- She is one of Armand Marseille\'s \"Dolly Face\" dolls, first produced in 1894.

- This queenly girl has a lovely bisque socket head on her original fully-jointed composition-and-wood German doll body, standing 24\" tall. Huge almond shaped blue glass stationary eyes with painted lower lashes, multi-stroke and molded brows, open mouth with four upper teeth, dimpled chin, long brunette wig styled so beautifully.

- She is dressed in a lovely beige color lace dress with lace trim and a small tiara (appropriate for a queen), white cotton slip with lace trim, as well as a pair of cotton knit socks and black shoes. The basket is included as well.

Condition Details:

- Generally in excellent condition.

- Very nice quality pale bisque with pleasant coloring and no chips, cracks, or hairlines.

- The original body has few small paint chips.

- Overall, a sweet Queen Louise!

As with all my listings (unless explicitly stated otherwise), this comes from a NON-smoking Environment.

IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have:(1) SIGNS OF AGE - for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of \"hair\" lashes on bisque heads (if they had them), not-so-tight stringing, etc., and ...(2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors - for example: reset eyes (in most cases!), repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc.SO ... Any MAJOR issues -- hairline crack, total repaint, etc. -- would be itemized above, but these normal age/conservation details are not. They are to be expected. Thank you.

Please expect these types of conditions with old dolls.
