Up for sale is a lovely, antique, french, interior, Arts & Crafts door salvaged from an old home in NorthEastern Ohio. The door has a solid Birch core with 1/8" Birch veneers and features 12 beveled glass lites.Please don\'t think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door.Although this is an interior door, it can also be used as an exterior door.Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit the door (check out our store).
Condition:
On the exterior side of the door, the bottom of one of the stiles has a deep cut; and the veneer on the bottom rail is chipped, cracked and delaminated.On the interior side of the door, a piece of molding from one of the windows is broken; and the bottom of one of the stiles is cracked and loose.
Otherwise, this door is in very good shape with only surface scrapes, scratches,small nail holes--minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted.Quirks & Considerations: The width of the door was unevenly cut by approx. 1/4", most likely to accommodate for an old warped floor or settling foundation. Each of the stiles were poorly cut to make the width of the door shorter. As a result, there are no mortises for any lock or hinges.

Swing: There are no hinge mortises cut into the side of the door, which gives you the opportunity to define the swing of the door.We can create hinge mortises for you, --Email us for a quote.
