A set of 3 lovely rose wreath design fine bone porcelain 8\" luncheon plates made for M.Z. Austria by the L.S.&S. factory in Carlsbad Austria (now Czechoslovakia) circa 1900. In excellent antique condition.
Carlsbad or Karlsbad is a mark used on china made by several factories in Germany, Austria, and Bavaria. Many pieces were exported to the United States. Many of the pieces are biscuit jars, bowls, plates, and platters from the late 1800s and early 1900s. Carlsbad is a city in Czechoslovakia, home to the factories that made the exported porcelain. Most of the pieces available today were made after 1891. Please Note: I acquire my items from a variety of sources. I try to clean and sanitize everything, but I cannot guarantee that the items have not been in homes/locations where cigarette and/or pet odors/hair have accumulated. I try to check my items for any unusual smells, but I may not be as sensitive to these odors as you might be.
