Three rare 1930-1931 issues of the crew`s newspaper for the Fleet Aircraft carrier U.S.S. Lexington (CV-2)! The issues are #s 30, 38, and 44. The newspaper was produced on a weekly basis by the crew members themselves to disseminate ship`s news and information on upcoming activities. These paper examples came from the estate of a former crewmember who worked on the paper itself, and have some of his edit marks in pencil on them in spots. All three papers are approx magazine sized and are 4 pages apiece. A unique look into the life on board this carrier in its earlier years, and a rare peek into its history, as well!
