The FEC1 LED LightingFlicker Effects Control (FEC) has 6 dynamic effects modes and one staticdimming mode. The FEC is intended for simulation of flame and ember sourcessuch as candles, lanterns, oil lamps, fires, coals and wood embers. Each of the6 modes is distinguished by the average light level, the maximum depth of theflicker trough, and a different flicker pattern. All dynamic modes have 10speed steps. (step #1 fast – flame flicker) to (step #10 slow – ember glow ).

Modes are: 1 flickermed – low 2 flicker med – hi 3 flicker – low 4 flicker – hi 5 surge fade - med6 surge fade – hi 7 static dimming

For more dynamic ora faster flicker appearance multiple FECs, in different modes and (or) speedsmay be used with multiple LED light sources. For burning coal and ember glowsimulation the slower speeds (6-10) of the FEC may be used in any of the modes.

The FEC is for usewith LED light sources only. The FEC operates from 5 to 24 volts DC and amaximum of 1.5 amp at 5-12 volts and 0.75 amp 24 volts, 18 watts maximum. TheFEC retains the last setting when turned off or disconnected. The FEC1 controls(switches) the negative (-V) power, the positive (+V) passes though the unit. Theidle current when off is 2-3ma typ. Power connection is via DC barrel connectors2.1mm X 5.5mm, with 5.5” cable length.

The FEC has 3tactile buttons:

1) Mode: (6 totaldynamic, one static)

2) Speed - On/Off:(10 speed steps, and 12 steps of dimming, 3 second hold for On/Off)

3) Light: used tochange to static dimming mode only (10%-95% dimming range 12 steps via theSpeed- On/Off button)

The FEC is for usewith LED lighting only such as 12 volt DCred, orange, and amber / yellow lights for fire effects appearance.
