DESCRIPTION:

Antique Pendleton blanket. Black Cayuse Indian Blankets label.

Napped wool with felt bound edges.

Excellent quality, color, design and condition.

Colors are remarkably vibrant given the age of this blanket.

Label reads: “Cayuse Indian Blankets; Manufactured by Pendleton Woolen Mills; Reg. Pat. Off. Pendleton Oregon”.

Acquired from the estate of the original owner.

Circa 1930s. USA.

CONDITION:

Excellent, all original condition. No damage and no significant wear. No restorations.

No rips, tears or frays.

No broken stitching. No loose binding.

We have not had this blanket cleaned. It is generally clean as found.

No stains, soiling or discoloration. No fading or dull colors.

No cigarette, pet or other offending odors.

This blanket appears to have been used gently and stored carefully. No signs of abuse.

There are 2 very small areas of minor superficial loss to the nap that expose the white cotton warp fibers. This could be insect or use related wear but it is very difficult to say for certain. They are very subtle and are not holes. This is not at all conspicuous in any way. See photos.
