Sturdy, antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in NorthEastern Ohio. It\'s made of either solid pine or Douglas Fir, and features 3 glass lites and 3 panels.
When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don\'t have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than was unevenly cut by 1/4". The cut was most likely made tocompensate for a settling foundation or an old warped floor. We could cut it to an even 76", shorter, or even build it up to make it taller--Email us for a quote.Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit any of these doors (check out our store).
* If you would like any of the hardware holes patched with a solid block of wood, please email us for a quote.Condition: On the interior side, the bottom rail and the edge of the lock stile are chipped.Otherwise, the door is in very good shape with only surface scrapes, scratches,small nail holes--minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted.
Refinish/Repaint:We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip this door to prepare any of them for you to repaint or refinish.See the last photos in this sale as an example of our work.Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we\'ll give you a quote.
Swing:The door is currently set up to swing inwards, towards the Right. However, we can modify it to swing in the opposite direction--Email us for a quote.
Modification: We could also modify these doors to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make frames, trim or add to the height or width, make molding, reverse swings, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we\'ll give you a quote.
