HOW: Just use the ask seller a question feature and type in what you want engraved. Scabbard: If you want the scabbard engraved to match the engraving on the sword it will be an flat $5.00 regardless of the number of letters. You will have to let me know to engrave the scabbard as well. As you can see in the photos engraving both is really nice but requires a separate set up and much more time. Sale Includes TWO lines of engraving up to 25-30 letters in each line. Theengraving is FREE for names or initials on the blade, or the scabbard. For example I willengrave a name such as “Brother Adron Wilson” Line 1 and “Williamsburg Commandery No 50” Line 2 FREE.
Explanation of engraving charges! First let me explain a set up. When the sword or scabbard is attached to the engraving machine it goes in a vice and is held in place while the letters are engraved. The letters are all lined up on a plate where the letters are then transferred onto the sword. The plate will only hold a maximum of 38-40 letters (double line block font) can be more with a smaller font, including comas, periods, and spaces. All of which take room. I can slide the piece and combine the setups making it possible to engrave a sentence or slogan of any length that the piece will actually hold. This is very tricky to do, as the sword has to be lined back up perfectly and often costs me a sword that I cannot be sold at all. Because of this anything over 40 characters is a $5.00 charge for the additional time it takes to do another setup and the chance of it not working. I can engrave on the blade area 1, is the flat area where the blade meets the handle. This is my default position and will hold two lines of engraving. Area 2 is anywhere else on the blade. This blade is sort of separated into a top side of blade and a bottom area. Instead of having a blood grove it has the opposite. it rises in the middle and fades to the double edges. I can engrave three separate setups or maybe 4 along the blade. A setup is approximately 38-40 letters. This sword will accommodate a whole lot of engraving. The same is for the scabbard, the area near the handle is area 3 will accommodate 1 set up of two lines of 38-40 letters, and the area near the tip is area 4. This area will accommodate 3 set ups of the same areas are available on the back side of the sword and scabbard as well. IMPORTANT-THIS IS A CHANGE The Sword can be engraved in locations 1, this area is on facing \"front\"side of blade near the handle, best location also default location, location 2, is anywhere along the facing blade, location 3 is for the top of the scabbard, near the handle, facing side and location 4. is the facing side near the bottom. The facing side is the side that is facing the viewer when the sword is displayed in a stand with the double hanging rings up.
