LA MODE ILLUSTREEBUREAUX du JOURNAL 56 RUE JACOB PARIS
La Mode Illustree (The Illustrated Fashion) was the leading French women\'s victorian fashion magazine in the mid-late 19th century, and from 1860-1872, created some of the finest etched fashion plates of the era.
Artist: Adele-Anais Colin Toudouze (1822-1899) was one of the main artists for La Mode Illustree, and came from a family of artists and engravers.I believe the original pieces were created in the 1860s-1880s.
Oval frames:The left framed piece (left woman sitting with book) looks to be an original! Signature of artist \"Anais Toudouze\" is on bottom right. Printer: Gilquin imp., ParisThere is a small crack in the vintage paper, shown in pictures, on bottom ruffles of the left woman\'s dress. Some nicks in the vintage frame.
The right framed (with tree in the middle) piece I believe is a 1950s reproduction of the late 1800s original, as it shows Anais Toudouze signature on the left bottom, and shows \"Bonnard\" on the bottom right. It also has the green circled \"SZL\"Printer: Gilquin fils imp., ParisSome nicks in the vintage frame, shown in pictures.
The backing of the oval frames, as shown in pictures, are worn due to age. This is how I found them, and this is how they will be shipped.
Rectangle frames:I believe both are 1950\'s reproductions of the late 1800\'s originals.
The left framed pieceshows Anais Toudouze signature on the left bottom, and shows \"Bonnard\" on the bottom right. It also has the green circled \"SZL\"Printer: Guilquin fils imp Paris
The right framed piece does not show any signature, but is stamped with the green \"SZL\"Printer: Leroy imp Paris
