Photos show everything. Not sure the age, but obviously very old. This is a most awesome matching set of 4 brackets. The bases look brass or copper/bronze color, but I believe them to be cast iron, or heavy steel. A magnet attracts to them. I believe they are meant to mount onto a wall, with brackets or like pieces dropping into the holes at the top of the piece you see in photos 7 & 8. The inside diameter of the hole in photo 8 is about 5/8\". There is a notch, as you see in photo 7 that may be to lock the drop-in piece in place. May sway back and forth if desired, I think. The base that mounts to the wall is 2.5\" x 3-3/8\". They protrude 3\" from the wall. THIS IS A CLUNKY DESCRIPTION BECAUSE I\'M NOT SURE EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE, AND I\'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THEM. SORRY. I WILL ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. In any event, this is an awesome set of 4 matching brackets, for sure. Photos show the true condition. Please look closely and ask any questions you may have.
