I cut the branches off this old American elm tree in my yard in November of 2017 and girdled the 12\' stump early this spring. The bark has released from the stump and burls and I am now harvesting the pin-caps.Lots of beautiful burl wood.The treewas planted here in Northwestern Oklahoma after the dust bowl. This tree lived quite the life to produce this much burl.
