Offered is a very rare early 1950\'s possible late 1940\'s mid century wrought iron patio/garden table and 4 chair set. This is a very unique design and I have not seen another like it in a thorough online search of designers and makers who specialized in wrought iron. This could be a custom one off build or designer/maker that is unfamiliar to me. It is built from high quality square iron and the craftsmanship is superb. I am not sure if the plywood seats are original or if it had cushions originally. The local architectural salvage dealer I purchased this from years ago said it was once on the grounds of the sole Santa Barbara (Montecito) Frank Lloyd Wright house that was built here in 1910. I have no proof of that or anything to back that up whatsoever so take that with a grain of salt. The set however has beautiful modern lines. It has what I believe to be the original green painted finish. There is light surface corrosion, and it could be easily refinished but It has a wonderful patina to it so I left it as is, other than having a furniture builder friend lightly clear coat the finish against any further corrosion. This is a fantastic uniquely designed mid century piece you are not likely to see again anytime soon. The lines are clean, purposeful, and understated rather than ornate and embellished like most wrought iron patio furniture. This beautiful set will be for pick up in Santa Barbara. I am willing to store it for up to 3 weeks for buyer to arrange to pick it up, however payment in full is due within 3 days of sale end. If buyer wants to arrange freight pick up on this that is fine, but all arrangements should be worked out ahead of time concerning price and distance not after so buyer is aware of what they are getting into.
