I just met the original Animagic figure of Smokey the Bear this past weekend in Dallas (See photos). This special first appeared on Thanksgiving day, 1966! The day the Smokey balloon flew in the Macy\'s Thanksgiving day parade in New York City! From the Rankin/Bass Archives, you get a beautiful 50th Anniversary print of the Smokey Animagic figure on the set of Rankin/Bass\' The Ballad of Smokey the Bear taken from the original 4 x 5\" Transparency and printed on glossy archival paper at 8-1/2 x 11\". The classic special was the follow up to Rankin/Bass\' Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and it starred the talents of James Cagney. It originally appeared on the NBC GENERAL ELECTRIC COLOR FANTASY HOUR! I will include a dvd of that broadcast complete with the NBC/GE open as well. In addition, I will include a cd that has a few of the rare 45 singles that were issued from the special. \"Only you can prevent forest fires!\" Just read a GE Trade article on the special and it was important for them to convey the lessons of keeping a good Environment to the entire family.
