6th Plate T/T Three Cavalry Officers, great pose, hardcore Captain in center:

Incredibly well posed shot of three Yankee officers crowded together for the camera. The fellow in the center shows non-regulation quatrefoils on his sleeves indicating his rank of captain. The metal scabbard and part of the barred hilt of his cavalry saber show he\'s a cavalry officer. The other two are likely his company lieutenants. All three wear slouch hats and field wear. The center and left figure wear officer sack coats. The fellow on the right seems to be wearing an overcoat of some sort over a coat or jacket with large military buttons. The officer\'s stripe on his pant leg is visible. The fellow on the left grasps a pipe with the stem in his mouth and has turned to look over at his companions. The fellow on the right looks off to the left and holds a pipe in his right hand, which he rests on the central figure\'s shoulder. The center figure is the focus of attention when viewing the photo and he gazes directly back at the camera and into the viewer\'s eyes. This guy comes across as dead serious to the camera, a no-nonsense combat officer. There are lots of CW images out there, but few really speak to the viewer like this one. I have no idea who these guys are. Perhaps an identification will surface, but they knew how to take a photo!Cased in a sixth-plate \"leatherette\" case, solid, though the hinge has been retaped at some point. A minor scratch across the top of the left figure\'s hat. A couple of minor scratches, minor wipes, etc. Old pencil note in back of the case, probably a price.
