Here is a lovely twentieth century Japanese hand crafted studio porcelain vase, in a blue-grey glaze with a beautiful dark blue and red under glaze cherry blossom floral design, and marked or signed on the bottom with a two character mark as shown. This piece is in very nice condition, free of any cracks, chips or hairlines. It has a long neck above a low wide bulbous shape form and stands 7 1/4 inches tall and measures approximately 5 inches across at it\'s widest point. This vase stands on a 2 1/2 inch diameter base and measures 1 1/2 inches across at it\'s mouth. I do not know anything else about history other than it came to me from a high end quality estate sale here in Charleston, SC. As far as it\'s age, it does have some faint crazing upon close examination and as you can see in my very close up pictures suggesting it may be more of a mid-century piece or perhaps older. As you see in my final four photographs in this listing, this vase is one of two similar color pottery vases I have available which appear to have the same mark but are different forms. This sale is for the taller of the two vases only, but the other is available through a separate sale in my store. This marvelous hand crafted Japanese pottery vase in such nice condition will make a lovely addition to your own home.
