8th Air Force Bombers (Life Magazine July 26, 1943) SIGNED:
$50.00

Life Magazine (July 26, 1943), with cover depicting 8th Air Force bombers. Walter J. Stewart is one of the men pictured in the photo (bottom right-hand corner, second from right). Stewart flew B-24 bombers for the 93rd Bomb Group, 330th Squadron, during WWII. He named his plane \"The Utah Man\" after his beloved University. Stewart finished with 32 missions, his second to last one being the deadly low-level bombing of Ploesti on August 1, 1943, where he earned the Distinguished Service Cross. Stewart has signed the bottom of the magazine. He has also identified, on a copy of a separate piece of paper, most of the other men in the photo and whether they survived the war. Sadly, many of them were killed in the line of duty. A real unique piece.

I have been a member of since July 1998 and started selling items shortly after joining. With respect to signed material offered for sale, I guarantee that all signatures are 100% authentic. Signature guaranteed to pass any third-party authentication inspection or full refund provided. Most of the material I list on is obtained from estate sales, thrift stores, and used book stores. If a signature is questionable, I do not list it….period. I offer both signed and inscribed material, and although “flat signed” material is often preferable from a collectability standpoint, with the flood of fake signatures in the market place today, an inscribed copy can actually lend more legitimacy to the signature. Certificate of Authenticity provided upon request. Please review my excellent response rating before offerding.

Condition: Magazine is Very Good+. Staples firmly in place with all pages securely attached.

Grading Criteria:

As New: book is in the same immaculate condition in which it was published. There can be no defects, no missing pages, no library stamps, etc., and the dust jacket (if it was issued with one) must be perfect, without any tears.

Fine: book approaches the condition of As New, but without being crisp. No defects, etc., and if the jacket has a small tear, or other defect, or looks worn, this should be noted.

Very Good: book shows some small signs of wear on either binding or paper.

Good: book that has average wear and tear with all pages or leaves present.

Fair: book is worn with complete text pages (including those with maps or plates) but may lack end papers, half-title, etc. (which must be noted). Binding, jacket (if any), etc. may also be worn.

Poor: book is sufficiently worn that its only merit is as a Reading Copy because it does have the complete text, which must be legible. Any missing maps or plates should still be noted. This copy may be soiled, scuffed, stained or spotted and may have loose joints, hinges, pages, etc.

Ex-library: book that is retired from a library. Must always be designated as such no matter what the condition of the book.

Shipping: Buyer to pay all shipping costs. International shipping rates will vary based on destination. Please do not ask for exact shipping quotes during an active listing as there are various websites where you can calculate this on your own based on the stated weight range. I have shipped numerous items internationally and have never received a complaint with respect to shipping costs. All items securely packaged to ensure safe delivery.

Payment: Payment must be received within 1 day of purchase/sale close.

Return Policy: Detailed descriptions and sufficient pictures are taken of every items to provide potential buyers with enough information to make fully informed decisions about an item prior to offerding. Therefore, returns will be accepted within 14 days only in the event of material non-disclosed flaws. If you feel that you need more detail about the condition of an item, please ask before offerding. I will respond to all inquiries.
