This is an original sculpture created by the eminent American artist Gilroy Roberts as a tribute to the Bicentennial of the United States. This work portrays the majestic and impressive American eagle pausing after a long flight and preparing to soar again into the sky, which is symbolic of the Bicentennial.

It was created for the Bicentennial and produced by Franklin Mint in 1975. This bronze sculpture measures about 15” tall, with about a 20” wing span, and about 10” tip beak/end tail feather. It is numbered 606/2000 and weighs about 17 pounds. This size and weight will result in an expensive shipping cost. It will be professionally packed to help ensure it will arrive to you safely and in good condition.

The black wooden base has a brass placard identifying the piece and artist.

CONDITION:
The bronze eagle is in excellent/very good condition. The base has a bruised bottom corner (see pictures).

This eagle would be a very impressive statement piece in an office or home.

ARTIST:
The American sculptor and engraver Gilroy Roberts was born in Philadelphia and lived in Pennsylvania. He was a sculptor, gemstone carver, and the ninth Chief Engraver of the United States Mint between 1948 and 1964. He is notable for having designed the obverse of the Kennedy Half Dollar.
