A 1.45 METRE UNUSED FLOUNCE OF VICTORIAN BRUSSELS DUCHESSE LACE - 11 1/2\" Deep:

A 57 1/2\" (1.45 metre) unused flounce of Victorian Brussels Duchesse lace with mode fillings to the centres of some of the flowers. The fibres of the lace feel like linen and the lace has a creamy natural linen colour. It has a design of stylised flowers and leaves and is joined with twisted brides, some with picots. Both ends of the lace are finished, which seems strange for this kind of length, but maybe it was intended to be used as a veil. The lace is 11 1/2\" (29.5cm) deep, not including the 1/2\" (1.25cm) engrelure. It is in very good unused vintage condition.
