Persian, Qajar Dynasty -dating from the 19th century.
A hand constructed copper ewer of baluster form and resting an applied circular waisted collet type foot.
Of solid strap form, the scrolling handle is tightly copper riveted in position and incorporates a shaped thumb-piece at the upper most extreme. The broad area, (handle left face), below the thumb-piece is inscribed - see image 2.
The shaped opening rises upward from the handle to form a curving pouring spout - the broad rim area is fluted, orscallopedin construction.
Images 6 - 11, detail chiseled and incised floral decoration to the vessel - the decoration incorporates boteh motifs, flower heads and trailing vines.
Internally, the ewer is fully tinned.Overall height - 13\" (330mm).
Weight - 1,793 grams

Condition - Good. Very old brazed repair work to the front face, resulting in two small areas of fatigue, (consistent with genuine age and usage - not spoiling the appearance in any way). Minor bruises and surface marks, (also consistent with genuine age and usage). Fine natural colour and patina.
